Appleton Public Library

The City of Appleton was looking to reenergize the community and a key step in doing so is to expand the services of the Appleton Public Library. The city engaged architect Skidmore, Owings & Merrill of Chicago to create a new library – one that is welcoming, inspiring, and comfortable. The design integrates daylight and nature, including more spaces for children and teen services and community meeting rooms, in addition to improved spaces for the existing services.

Boldt was selected in 2021 to review the design and bring it into budget, and ultimately construct the new library. Evaluating the proposed design was done through a series of community input sessions and Boldt’s Target Value Design to ensure the project will meet the needs of the community in a financially responsible way.

With the full team working together, the project was reimagined from its original design to provide flexible spaces to meet the community’s growing needs.
