Plexus – Neenah Design Center

Plexus - Neenah Design Center Lobby and Stairwell

After completing construction of the core and shell of the new four-story, 90,000 SF Gateway Office Building, Boldt was engaged by Plexus, a global leader in design and manufacturing in the industrial, healthcare / life sciences and aerospace / defense industries, to complete a full build-out of the entire space to house their new design center. The new design center – their largest of eight – comprises office space, advanced training and technology spaces, collaborative work environments, food service / cafeteria and one of the company’s two data centers. A signature feature of this fully modern office is the two-story open atrium with a grand staircase.

Boldt worked in close collaboration with the McMahon Group, Performa Architects and Engineers and key trades partners as part of a design-build team to meet the client’s ambitious deadline. As a result of the early team integration, the team was able to take the project from award to construction in less than three months, allowing the team to hit the necessary milestones to accommodate the client’s needs.

Project Highlights

  • Working in close collaboration with architects, engineers and MEP trade partners, the Boldt design-build team was able to complete the full project, from day one of design through close-out in 15 months.
  • Built in a highly constrained downtown location with limited staging and laydown area, the team relied on just-in-time delivery of materials, safety planning and coordination with the City of Neenah and community members to manage logistics successfully.
