Boldt’s Youth Apprenticeship Mentor Program

In the world of construction, the path from classroom learning to professional work can often feel like a daunting leap. However, for Owen Kirsteatter, a young aspiring union carpenter, that transition was made easier by Boldt’s Youth Apprenticeship Mentor Program.

Owen’s initial skepticism about joining the program and working alongside experienced professionals quickly evaporated when he met his mentor, Jessie. From day one, Jessie stood by Owen’s side, teaching him new skills, pushing him to work hard, and instilling a sense of confidence in his abilities. Jessie’s unwavering support extended beyond the worksite; he attended Owen’s school events and apprenticeship activities, proving to be a consistent presence in his journey.

Boldt’s Youth Apprenticeship Mentor Program not only provided Owen with a valuable head start in his career but also instilled in him a desire to pay it forward. Owen recognizes the immense impact a mentor can have on a young person’s life and hopes to become a mentor himself one day.
